First, we appreciate you taking our program to the best of heart. We would like to share our experiences as teen girls with parents in the military. We feel the affects first hand of deployment as do thousands of girls throughout the nation. Through the deployment of our fathers to Afghanistan, we felt isolated and lacked confidence. Other girls feel the same way. Therefore, our mission for the Sisterhood of the Traveling BDUs is to bring together girls with parents in the military with the goal of boosting self esteem, growing in leadership, and bonding in sisterly support.
The problem is real, but the solution is possible with your
help. Our program, The Sisterhood of the Traveling BDUs, will bring together 400
military girls and 100 female service members from across California for the
first ever weekend conference to build self esteem, grow in leadership, build up
their communities, and empower one another in sisterly support. The mantra for
this event is, "UNITE, INSPIRE, LEAD." The Sisterhood of the Traveling BDUs will
do just that; bring military girls facing indescribable struggles together;
inspire them with the tools to enrich their own lives, the lives of their
families, and the lives of those in their communities; and to lead the
Sisterhood into the next generation of change.
We created this conference with a vision. We need your support to make this
vision a reality. Any support you can contribute would directly affect the lives
of military girls now and in the future.
Thank you for your belief in the Sisterhood of the Traveling BDUs.
